A healthcare facility in Falmouth Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Surgical Technician OR General for a 13-week contract assignment. This role supports a wide range of surgical procedures by maintaining a safe sterile operating room environment and delivering high-quality perioperative patient care in accordance with hospital policies and AORN standards.
Prepare operating rooms with appropriate instruments equipment sterile drapes and solutions
Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention and infection control standards
Perform scrub technician duties across multiple surgical specialties
Pass instruments supplies and equipment during surgical procedures
Assist with tissue retraction suture cutting and accurate sponge needle and instrument counts
Prepare handle and properly dispose of surgical specimens
Assist with patient positioning transport and transfer to recovery areas
Prepare and label medications under the direction of the Surgeon and Registered Nurse
Operate sterilizers surgical lights suction and diagnostic equipment as required
Ensure case-specific instrumentation is available per surgeon preference cards
Assist with room turnover cleaning and restocking between cases
Participate in staff orientation meetings and ongoing education
Maintain patient privacy safety dignity and confidentiality
Demonstrate professionalism teamwork and service excellence
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room / Surgical Technician experience (required)
Orthopedic experience strongly preferred
Graduate of an accredited civilian or military Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician program (required)
National Surgical Technologist Certification (NBSTSA) (required)
Certification must be from an NCCA-accredited organization recognized by ACS & AST
Newly graduated candidates must obtain certification within 12 months of graduation
Current BLS Certification (required)
