Pay: Year 1: $24.00 Year 2: $28.00 when qualifications are achieved

Shift Differential: $0.40 on 2^nd shift and/or $0.45 on 3^rd shift

The Kankakee Flooring Plant team has a job opportunity for an Electrical Apprentice located in Kankakee IL. Under the general guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor and Electrical Engineer this position is responsible for laying out building testing troubleshooting repairing and modifying the electrical and controls aspects of production equipment facility systems and power distribution systems according to engineering instructions and supervision. Additionally this position will perform regular electrical preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by supervision. Perform other duties as necessitated by business needs at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

JOB DUTIES:

• AC/DC Motor Theory/Application/Design
• AB Power Flex Drives
• In line motor starters with a firm understanding of overload function
• 24V and 120V Control Circuits
• Allen Bradley PLC
• Working knowledge of RS Logic 500 RS Logic 5000 Studio 5000 and RS Links
• Strong understanding of controls network i.e. Ethernet Data Highway Device Net
• Firm understanding of Ladder Logic with strong troubleshooting skills
• PLC Programming
• HMI and MMI Panel view and Wonderware
• Closed Loop Control with rudimentary understanding of PIDs
• Read wiring diagrams
• 480V Distribution systems and switch gear knowledge
• Experience up to 600 V
• Electrical with understanding of NEC
• Ability to specify/recommend electrical equipment
• Experience with preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance
• Electrical design
• Good technical writing ability and verbal communication skills
• Provide total commitment to personal safety and ensure that others are working in a safe manner as well.
• Perform tasks in accordance with proven skill levels as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
• Participates in Continuous Improvement also provides suggestions to improve processes and participates in team projects.
• Work cooperatively with production staff to accomplish tasks and achieve departmental goals.
• Maintain property plant and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of the operations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a full-time employee
• Electrical Certificate obtained from KCC is required
• The employee must meet the minimum grade requirements as specified below:
  • Individual Courses employees must receive a grade of B/3.0 GPA or better or a Pass if the course is graded as Pass/Fail.
  • Degree programs employees must maintain a cumulative average of B/3.0 GPA or a Pass if the institution does not utilize grade point averages.
  • Certification courses employees have two opportunities to pass a certification course.
• Must keep attendance under 4 points
• Must submit copy of class schedule and registration information
• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check employment verification and drug screening
• Positive and Verifiable Work History
• 0-1 years of industrial electrical experience.

Criteria for class reimbursement

• AHF Products will reimburse a maximum of 50% of tuition per course upon successful completion of courses up to $5000 annual expense (calendar year) subject to a lifetime maximum of $20000
• In the event of an involuntary termination for unacceptable performance or other disciplinary reasons or my voluntary termination you will be required to reimburse AHF Products as follows:
  • Degree courses/programs
    • All expenses incurred by the Company on behalf of the employee in the past one (1) year* must be reimbursed to AHF Products AND
    • 50% of all expenses incurred by the Company on behalf of the employee between one (1) and two (2) years* must be reimbursed to AHF Products
    • No reimbursement is required after two (2) years* of service following the completion of the course.
  • Certification programs
    • All expenses incurred by the Company on behalf of the employee in the past one (1) year* must be reimbursed to AHF Products
  • Employees whose positions are eliminated via a severance or separation agreement or who become disabled after enrollment will not be held responsible for reimbursing the Company for Continuing Education Assistance related expenses.
