We currently have an opening for an Applications Systems Analyst II

This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agencys remote work program but does require weekly onsite work

The Early Career Associate Program is ideal for recent graduates early-career professionals or those looking to transition to a new career seeking broad exposure to state IT operations.

The Early Career Associate Program is a two-year on-the-job training (OJT) program designed for individuals with three years or less of professional experience. After gaining exposure to the role through the development process participants will have the opportunity to be placed in a permanent role based on mutual fit and career goals.

Key Responsibilities:
The Engineering Application Development Unit is responsible for the implementation operation and maintenance of IT systems for the automation of engineering designs and processes. The candidate for this position will use their engineering experience to design develop and support highly complex computer software applications for the analysis design and rating of structural engineering components. This position will act as a team lead for assigned projects and will be responsible for creating structural engineering calculations and validating work of other team members assigned to the project.

About the Division:
The primary purpose of the Engineering Applications Development Unit is to coordinate and direct the planning development or procurement installation and operation of information systems for the various Highway Division Branches and Units.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

The following Management Preferences are not required but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

  • Demonstrated experience with C# WPF Java Visual Studio and/or SQL
  • Demonstrated experience designing and analyzing bridge or building structures using current AASHTO ACI or AISC design codes
  • Software engineering experience with industry standard Software Development Life Cycle methodologies

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development

OR

Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development

OR

High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
