Job Summary

Our client is an established engineering solutions and aftersales services provider supporting marine and large-scale mechanical systems across the Asia Pacific region. They are looking for a Technical Support Specialist to deliver technical guidance operational support and performance improvement solutions to customers operating mission-critical equipment.

This role sits at the intersection of customer operations service execution and engineering support. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges improve asset performance and support long-term operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical escalation point for customers providing diagnostic support and practical solutions for equipment-related issues.

  • Investigate operational incidents perform fault analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support customers in improving maintenance strategies equipment availability and lifecycle performance.

  • Review operational and condition-monitoring data to identify trends risks and improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and propose technical recommendations to enhance performance efficiency and compliance.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by documenting findings and sharing technical insights internally.

  • Provide engineering input for service activities including repairs inspections upgrades and improvement projects.

  • Collaborate with service execution teams (field workshop and parts) to ensure coordinated delivery.

  • Participate in work planning safety reviews and post-activity evaluations.

  • Build effective working relationships with customers operators yards and partners.

  • Support commercial discussions by providing technical clarifications and solution inputs when required.

  • Attend site visits and operational reviews to understand customer challenges and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.

  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for customers and internal records.

  • Monitor recurring issues and work with engineering functions to drive long-term technical improvements.

  • Ensure activities comply with applicable safety regulatory and operational standards.

  • Support technical activities at ports terminals offshore locations and maintenance facilities across the region.

  • Utilise digital tools and monitoring platforms to support remote diagnostics and performance tracking.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering Marine Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical support service engineering or reliability-focused roles within marine power or heavy equipment environments.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with exposure to complex mechanical systems.

  • Experience working with maintenance systems technical documentation and ERP platforms (SAP exposure is a plus).

  • Comfortable engaging customers and stakeholders across multiple locations in APAC.
