Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the repair PM QA installation modification and technical advice for all Radiologic Laboratory MRI Ultrasound equipment as well as other clinical and non-clinical equipment as assigned by the Manager of Clinical Engineering. This position is also responsible for implementation and maintaining the Medical Equipment Management Plan in accordance with JCAHO requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related degree required.
2. Must possess valid New York State drivers license and be insurable.
3. 5 years experience as a BMET or 5 years prior radiology-related experience required.
4. Strong troubleshooting and electronic skills required.
5. Strong organizational and communication skills required.
As applicable the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
