Program Summary
KBR maintains and manages Army prepositioned stocks at the Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston (AFSBn-CHS) land site and aboard ship to include all logistics and maintenance operations. The KBR APS-3 Program is managed and executed at Goose Creek in support of the Armys power projection doctrine and resources. The contract provides maintenance of APS-3 stocks (Class II IIIP IV VII IX) to ensure that unit sets stored aboard marine vessels are configured and maintained at optimal readiness. KBR provides limited maintenance and supply support aboard ship to ensure that equipment sets are maintained in a ready condition for emergency download and issue to operating units at the direction of the US Army. KBR also provides maintenance services and logistical support for other Army programs IAW individual scope of work contract requirements.
Job Summary
Repairs and maintains and a variety of equipment which may include: motor vehicles such as internal combustion automobiles buses trucks or tractors; electrical household or commercial appliances such as stoves refrigerators or dishwashing machines; or heavy equipment including cranes power shovels scrapers paving machines motor graders trench-digging machines conveyors bulldozers dredges pumps compressors and pneumatic tools. Works under general supervision. Requires specialized experience in diesel and automotive repair and maintenance. Installs specified new or reconditioned parts and/or makes required adjustments and reassembles complete unit. Disassembles engines and mechanical units to inspect parts and operating defects. Executes required preventive maintenance procedures. Performs inspections required by the company or government. Promotes teamwork and actively participates in quality improvement process. Promotes safety awareness and complies with all applicable safety procedures and regulations. May also require knowledge of oilfield services equipment operation and maintenance.
Roles and Responsibilities
Make repairs to Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Troubleshoot malfunctions of GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters voltmeters ohmmeters frequency counters oscilloscopes circuit card testers transistor testers and hand tools.
Prepare GSE for storage and transportation.
Use automated maintenance data systems to maintain equipment records and document maintenance actions.
Maintain external fuel and grounding systems.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE inspecting testing and operating GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
Service equipment with fuel oil water coolant hydraulic fluid refrigerant and compressed air.
Disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components.
Remove disassemble repair clean and treat for corrosion assemble and reinstall GSE components and accessories.
Stencil and mark GSE in accordance with technical publications.
Store handle label use and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state local and federal environmental standards and regulations.
Operate clean inspect and service GSE towing vehicles.
Maintain and update both paper and electronic records for equipment and vehicles.
Provide dispatch service for GSE and practice good housekeeping tool control Foreign Object Damage prevention and safety at all times.
Work both individually and as a part of a team within the Site Support Department.
Perform field level automotive maintenance on all automotive tactical and combat equipment assigned or work-loaded to the APS-03 program.
As a subject matter expert lead and provide training for lesser-qualified or experienced mechanics.
Use government furnished special tools property and facilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education Experience Skills and Certifications)
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Must obtain and maintain local base access.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Requires ASE Certifications on-the-job training other formalized training or additional related experience may be considered.
Must have at least a basic level skill in Microsoft Office programs.
Must have a valid State issued Drivers License.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day.
Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day.
Must be able to Lift - up to 35 lbs.
Must be able to squat knell bend reach and climb periodically.
Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.
