The Planner/Buyer position is responsible for managing specified commodities to ensure the right materials in the right quantities at the right time in support of production and planning activities at Dover FS Dundee.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Manageend-to-endpurchaseorderactivityincluding placing POsorderacknowledgements deliverytrackingand shortage management.
  • Proactivelymanage andexpeditematerial shortages to minimize impacttoproduction and control costs.
  • Developandmaintaineffectivesupplierrelationshipsincluding leadingregularsupplier meetingsaround delivery stockagreementsandoverallperformance.
  • Maintain accountabilityforinventorylevels and material availabilityforcommodities.
  • Liaiseand collaborateclosely with other internal departments.
  • Coordinate collections at suppliers in conjunction with the approvedlogisticspartners.
  • Resolution of the following:
  • Goods Receiving queries
  • Invoice hold issues
  • Quality Return issues
  • SupportECOprocessto ensuretimelyandaccuratematerial alignment.
  • Using Oracle systemensuring all standard work activities are executedin a timely manner
  • Whereapplicableutilizeexisting supply chain tools such as Pick ListVendorScheduleor Kanban in supportofbusiness requirements.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement tasks and projects as requested and champion change
  • Anyadditionaldutiesasrequired

Qualifications:

Education Level: Degree preferred but not essential

Technical Skills:Competent MS Office applications user especially Excel;ERPknowledge(Oracle experience preferred but not essential)and manufacturing experience.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience in Buyer role or similar fast paced role

Other Requirements:

Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement is an advantage

Great interpersonal and communication skills

Self-motivated and pro-active
