Job Description:

Summary & Purpose of the Position

The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) serves as a field-based marketing position responsible for facilitating engagement opportunities and strategic brand partnerships with Hematology & Oncology Key Opinion Leaders and Key Account Leaders including physicians nurse leaders and pharmacy leaders on a regional and national level within a defined geography. The position supports the entire Hematology & Oncology portfolio including Tazverik and Onivyde as well as pipeline and future commercialized Hematology/Oncology brands.

TLL engagements will gain market insights assess impact of new & emerging clinical data in the disease landscape uncover marketing collaboration opportunities and foster productive key opinion leader (KOL) relationships to advance advocacy for the IPSEN Oncology Portfolio. The TLL team will effectively communicate the brand story to KOLs and identify strategic partnerships with the aim of creating advocates for our brands at large practices and major institutions throughout the US in the assigned regions.

This role serves as a liaison between home office departments field-based colleagues and health care professionals (HCPs) who are leaders in their respective fields. To be successful: the TLL team members will build close working relationships with but not limited to: National Sales Directors Regional Business Directors Oncology Account Specialists MSLs Marketing Teams and Value & Access teams to ensure alignment on broader business objectives in their assigned regions. TLL interactions are on-label and consistent with commercial compliance legal and regulatory guidelines.

Your territory includes New England & Mid Atlantic States with focus on major metropolitan areas (full state coverage includes: Maine New Hampshire Vermont Massachusetts Connecticut Rhode Island New York Pennsylvania Ohio New Jersey Delaware Maryland Virginia

Main Responsibilities

The Thought Leader Liaison is responsible for three key areas of focus: KOL Engagement & Commercial Relationship Management Marketing Initiatives and Conference/Meeting Engagement & Strategy. This position will support and coordinate the development of peer-to-peer tactics associated with current Hematology/Oncology brands as well as future Hematology/Oncology brands.

Detailed Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and deliver on impactful engagement activities / projects within assigned region with moderate oversight and team support- inclusive of HCP meetings strategic planning with field partners and leadership and execution of key priorities within that region

  • Develop and execute engagement plans to collaborate with KOLs to ensure TAZVERIKand Onivyde messaging is aligned with IPSEN brand goals

  • Work under close partnership with the Regional Business Directors to align on key regional priorities and support the execution of those priorities in collaboration with home office sales V&A and other stakeholders

  • Develop and implement a strategy to drive KOL advocacy for TAZVERIK and Onivyde

  • Gather insights on current evolution of the disease landscape and the impact of emerging datasets to inform and advance brand strategies

  • Develop coordinate and execute a strategic plan for congress and professional society meetings and support customer meetings at all major conferences for the senior leadership team

  • Lead in the design recruitment and execution of advisory boards

  • Function as a field member of the marketing team collaborating with sales value & access legal regulatory medical affairs senior management and other teams to further core TLL responsibilities and present a One IPSEN experience

  • Effectively translate scientific clinical and market research into actionable commercial education programs with moderate oversight and team support

  • Create awareness of evolving IPSEN projects including disease states initiatives promotional data availability and new indications with key opinion leaders

  • Engagement and contribution to TLL team priorities activities and culture

  • Two-way cultivation identification assessment and sharing of key educational & marketing messages with HCPs and IPSEN stakeholders

Knowledge & Experience

The qualified candidate will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills be able to effectively align with members of the extended IPSEN team and efficiently manage collaborations across a complex matrix. This role requires the ability to understand hematology and oncology at a level that can support robust treatment paradigm conversations with thought leaders. The TLL will need superior organizational skills in order to support communicating IPSEN internal activities; as well as organizing the thought leaders exposure to partners across a variety of engagement forums such as speaker bureaus advisory events and strategic summits.

Additional requirements include:

  • BA/BS degree

  • 2 years previous TLL (or industry field) experience with proven track record of successful impact required

  • 2 years experience within Hematology/Oncology sales marketing or clinical required

  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills; ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organization; strong presentation skills required

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities

  • Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams towards a shared vision of success

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines

  • Ability to execute against strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with key external stakeholders and actively represent the company brand teams and discuss key therapeutic areas

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve key milestones and business objectives working with colleagues with (and without) direct authority

  • Ability to travel as the role has significant geographic areas of responsibility as well as coverage of national and regional conferences/programs

  • Demonstrated strong organization skills: time management and project management

  • Approximately 70% travel; reside in close proximity to a major US airport

The annual base salary range for this position is $162000 - $235000.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to prior education and experience job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
