The Undersea Systems Division (USD) within the Leidos Maritime Business Area is looking for a Shop Floor Manager to support a talented team in working in the field of next-generation maritime solutions. Key Aspects of the Position
- General: Oversee day-to-day shop floor operations for a 36k sq ft facility including:
- Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S): Principal Assistant to the Facility Manager for the industrial EH&S aspects of the facility leading the EH&S efforts associated with the shop.
- Maintenance Management: Manage all aspects of shop floor equipment maintenance including OEM maintenance repairs and upgrades including but not limited to forklifts cranes and vehicles.
- Space Planning & Management: Manage shop storage allocation and Lead Shop Floor improvement projects together with Facilities Manager and Corporate leads.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for productivity cost and efficiency improvements.
- Technician Support: Support a world class team of technicians with your skills as an electrical mechanical or general technician.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or 2-year degree preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of general construction and utility systems
- 10 years total experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) experience
- Familiarity with ISO and 5S processes
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Climb a standard ladder without assistance
- Lift and carry heavy objects of up to 50 pounds
- Have depth perception
- Can walk up and down steep inclines (such as ladders or docks) unassisted
- US CItizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a technical field
- 5 years total experience with industrial facility management
- General understanding of construction manufacturing and/or test and evaluation basics
- Experience with ISO-9001
- Experience in the US Navy programs contracts and mission requirements
