Summary
  • The Placement Officer is integral to the Safeguarding and Family Support team focusing on delivering high-quality cost-effective placement services for children and young people aged 1 day to 25 years. This role involves assessing placement needs ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting effective care planning. The Placement Officers work is crucial in matching children to suitable provisions and enhancing the overall quality of care.
Responsibilities
  • Assess the placement needs of children and young people and match them to appropriate services.
  • Provide effective challenge to frontline teams to ensure accurate care planning informs commissioning decisions.
  • Operate a responsive duty service offering advice and guidance on matching needs to services.
  • Quality-assure information used to make placement decisions ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Offer commissioning advice within care planning and placement-focused meetings.
Requirements
  • Experience in developing and maintaining positive collaborative relationships with public/private sector organizations and stakeholders.
  • Ability to use professional judgment to balance needs risks and available resources.
  • Strong commitment to local authority priorities and service improvement.
  • Training or specialist qualifications related to commissioning safeguarding or childrens social care.
Additional Information
  • Working hours: 35 hours per week
  • Enhanced DBS barred with Child and adults required for the role.
  • Bi-weekly payment schedule
