- The SEND Quality Assurance Manager is tasked with leading managing and developing the Quality Assurance Framework for Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This role ensures that children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) receive high-quality statutory support. The position provides strategic oversight of audits quality processes complaints tribunals and mediation and supports the SEND Service Manager in reporting to senior leadership and the SEND Improvement Board.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the processes within the Quality Assurance Framework continually improving the quality of advice provided for and quality of issued EHCPs following assessment and review.
- Conduct monthly manager audits report on the data and identify actions and training required for continual improvement.
- Lead the half-termly multi-agency Quality Assurance Group ensuring members are prepared for thematic discussions sharing minutes and monitoring agreed actions including external channels.
- Develop effective training and tools addressing learning from the audit process contributing to individual and service improvements.
- Prepare a quarterly report on the progress of all quality assurance measures supporting the SEN Service Manager in briefing senior Council leaders.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience managing a range of administrative functions and systems in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience working with children/young people and their families in resolving complaints and complex cases.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Extensive knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the associated SEND Code of Practice.

- Working hours: 35 hours per week
- DBS Enhanced check required
- Bi-weekly payments
