Title: Sales Officer
Reports to: Country Manager
Based in: Kigali Rwanda
Job Purpose: The Sales Officer is responsible for building market position by locating developing defining negotiating and closing business relationships as well as directly engaging with clients to provide consistently superior customer service and drive sales growth.
Job Summary: The Sales Officer will ensure business growth through participating in directing and managing sales activities to align with the organizations strategic objectives. The role will involve prospecting for new clients building relationships managing the sales process and working cross-functionally to deliver solutions that meet client needs. The officer will also be responsible for enhancing existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities for products and services.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling networking and social media.
- Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns.
- Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services.
- Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
- Identify potential clients and the decision-makers within the client organization research and build relationships with them.
- Set up meetings between clients decision-makers and the companys practice leaders/Principals.
- Plan sales approaches and pitches and work with the team to develop proposals that address the clients needs concerns and objectives.
- Champion the pricing of the solution/service.
- Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
- Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors identify and develop the companys unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data.
- Ensure the availability of stock for sales and demonstrations.
- Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences.
- Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve better results.
- Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferably in IT/Computer Science.
- Knowledge in sales and marketing.
- Experience in a customer-facing role preferably in marketing or sales is an added advantage.
Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
- Skill in customer service support and training with a demonstrated customer service orientation.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Quick learner with demonstrated product knowledge and professionalism.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
- Team player with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with customers and other service delivery functions.
- Self-starter with possession of self-management and self-drive to complete tasks and engage customers.
- Proactive and highly organized with strong time management and planning skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines heavy workloads and remain calm under pressure with a high degree of individual responsibility.
