Supports the editor or professor in administering planning managing and co-ordinating publication of the Revue générale de droit. Implements editorial procedures and policies to ensure that the publication is uniform and standardized. Liaises with internal and external organizations and provides them with expert advice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manages administrative work and legal publication tasks for the Revue générale de droit. Assists the editor in planning for issues and liaises with publishers and contacts (external individuals stakeholders partners) providing expert advice on topics including composition and printing.
Shares guidance and information with authors communicating and following up with them throughout all publication procedures. Serves as a resource person providing information and assistance as needed for publication.
Ensures all stakeholders and reviewers meet their deadlines at all stages in the publication process including by keeping files up to date and staying in contact with stakeholders.
Applies typographical rules as part of corrections and amendments ensuring quality and consistency and makes required changes to manuscripts proofs and layouts.
Supervises the work of a reviser on contract and trains and manages students enrolled in the Assistanat à la rédaction dune revue juridique course.
Provides guidance and assistance during the selection process for the Assistanat à la rédaction dune revue juridique course and evaluates students work in collaboration with the journal editor.
Updates digital information on the journal website.
Monitors the assessment of articles for awards and manages correspondence from assessment committee members to ensure committees run as smoothly as possible.
Advises the journal editor on budget and grant management by updating and reviewing records of deposits.
Assists the journal editor in duties related to the Fiducie Collection Bleue (various monitoring tasks organizing meetings taking minutes accounting).
What you will bring:
Experience in administration as well as knowledge and expertise related to legal writing and editing including legal terminology normally acquired through post-secondary studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Mastery of written French
Knowledge of the principles of academic publication and experience in managing such publications
Experience in administrative writing as well as knowledge of typographical rules and editorial terms
Attention to detail
Ability to manage priorities meet multiple tight deadlines and make decisions to solve problems
Strong self-sufficiency in work methods and in meetings with partners and stakeholders
Availability to work on a flexible schedule
Experience in using computer systems and software such as MS Office (Word Excel) Adobe Acrobat (PDF) word processors databases email and internet browsers
Knowledge of the Manuel canadien de la référence juridique an asset
Knowledge of English
