About the Program
The NCIA internship is a 6-month program based at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands Belgium or Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1 March or 1 September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship you will join and support a diverse international team and simultaneously learn from our experts via on-the-job training working independently on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure.
About the Internship

The NATO Integrated Mobile Service Centre provides NATO and its partners with scalable protected secure reliable and integrated Wireless Communication-based Services with a focus on NATO Operations Crisis Response Missions Exercises and Business Continuity. The NIMSC Chief is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities for centres following services: strategy design transition operation and continuous service improvement including subject matter expertise research and development acquisition and logistic support.
This internship supports the Wireless Communications Department in projects involving mobile satellite communication systems. You will assist in laboratory and field measurements of RF and system-level parameters for mobile satellite terminals including antenna G/T terminal EIRP and achievable data rates under varying conditions. Responsibilities include setting up test
configurations operating measurement equipment collecting and analyzing test data documenting results and verifying terminal performance against technical specifications. The role may also involve contributing to test procedure development and optimization of measurement methodologies. The internship provides hands-on experience with RF engineering satellite terminal evaluation and professional laboratory practices.
About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role is:
Acceptance testing: Assists in planning preparing and executing acceptance tests for systems products business processes or services. Assists in collecting feedback from acceptance testing.
Measurement: Applies standard techniques to support the specification of measures and the collection and maintenance of data for measurement. Generates produces and distributes reports. Uses measurement tools for routine analysis of data. Identifies and implements improvements to data collection methods.
Testing: Executes given manual test scripts under supervision. Uses basic automated testing tools. Records results and reports issues. Develops an understanding of the role of testing as a tool for design improvement and a validation process.

Belgium
You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of 1334.96 EUR per month based on 38 hours of work per week and for reasonable travel expenses to start on day 1 and to return to your home location once the internship is complete.

Future Opportunities
In support of the NCIA strategy to hire train and retain exceptional talent the NCIA Internship Programme embeds a performance management process throughout the 6 month internship to provide high performing interns with the opportunity to continue their internship experience after their internship is successfully completed in a paid post at G8 equivalent at the duty location for 6 months to a maximum of 24 months. There is no guarantee that the internship can transfer to an Internship Temporary Personnel (ITP) as the funding is aligned to business priorities and objectives.
