Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for all aspects of assigned product line to ensure functionality quality cost and schedule by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

• Reviews construction documents to determine appropriate YKK AP products to be used based upon localbuilding codes construction drawings and project specifications.
• Prepares project specific analysis for YKK AP products to be used for compliance with construction documentsand building codes by preparing preliminary engineering review reports to substantiate that member sectionproperties meet the span spacing and design load specified on a specific time schedule.
• Determines from the contract documents project location model and local building codes and nationalstandards the design pressures for product application.
• Develops product modifications on an as needed basis.
• Advises internal and external customers on product selection and its appropriate installation.
• Provides guidance to all customers on product modification to satisfy project conditions and requirements.
• Leads the production of or produces CAD drawings of special application and detailing custom die productioninstallation instruction and test mockup review.
• Communicates with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customers needs andsolution.
• Assists with the development of product design and functionality.
• Provides support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intendedfunctionality of the design.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in engineering architectural or industrial design plus 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
