This role is categorized as hybrid meaning the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite at the Warren Tech Center at least three days per week (or other frequency determined by their manager).

About the Role:

We are seeking a Seat Complete Technical Specialist (Level 7) to serve as the technical owner for freestanding seat this role you will lead the strategy requirements and application of a defined seat BOM row from concept through launch partnering closely with engineering safety manufacturing and suppliers across global vehicle programs.

This is a highimpact role for an experienced engineer who enjoys ownership crossfunctional collaboration and influencing vehicle safety cost quality and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own safety compliance and quality for assigned freestanding seat BOM content.

  • Lead DFMEA development and deployment across core and program applications.

  • Define and execute global BOM row strategy including content and complexity optimization.

  • Develop and maintain technical requirements design standards and best practices.

  • Support vehicle programs through architecture definition trade studies and milestone execution.

  • Partner with DREs VSEs integration teams and suppliers to apply strategy on programs.

  • Support sourcing activities and supplier technical reviews.

  • Drive continuous improvement cost optimization and technology advancement within seat systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Automotive or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience in automotive seating systems or related interior/mechanical systems.

  • Experience owning technical content (BOM row or equivalent) from concept through launch.

  • Handson experience with DFMEA design reviews and safety or quality issue resolution.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in a crossfunctional environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience across multiple vehicle programs or development cycles.

  • Background in cost optimization VA/VE or content/complexity management.

  • Experience supporting global or multiregion vehicle programs.

  • Familiarity with GM engineering processes and standards.
