The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is seeking two (2) full-time pathologists for appointment to join our Hematopathology Division on the School of Medicines clinical practicetrack. Clinical responsibilities will includeprimarily analysis and reportingofflow cytometry (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing) somemorphology(for lymph nodes tissues bloods and marrows; no surgical pathologyand no frozen section coverage)and may include hemoglobin electrophoresiscoagulation reporting and possiblymolecular diagnostic testingdepending on the interests of the candidateand needs of the Division.The successful candidate willbe requiredto learn how to use Mac-based software and tools as part of their role.Educational activities include teaching hematology/hematopathology to students technologistsresidentsand fellows. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. Theinitialperiod for the Professor of Clinical Practice appointment will be 3 years.Multi-year renewal of the faculty appointment is contingent upon satisfactory performance the needs of the department availability of resources and in accordance with university policy and procedure governing reappointment.This positionremainsopenuntilfilled.
The base salary range for this position will be: $20659 to $35570 per month ($247902 to $426838 annually)commensuratewith experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included inUniversitybenefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
