Job Summary

Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery

Profession: Registered Nurse

Specialty: Labor & Delivery (LDRP)

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Nights 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)

Unit Overview

This is a Family Birthplace/LDRP unit with integrated nursery responsibilities. The unit follows Baby-Friendly practices and provides comprehensive maternal-newborn care. Nurses are cross-trained across multiple roles within the department.

Patient Care Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in Labor & Delivery Postpartum OB Triage and Acute Care Nursery

  • Circulate for OB surgical procedures

  • Care for GYN surgery patients as needed

  • Perform newborn hearing screenings

  • Administer medications via Omnicell medication system

  • Maintain safe evidence-based practice in accordance with AWHONN standards

Staffing Ratios

  • 1:1 Active Labor

  • 1:2 Cytotec Inductions

  • 1:1 Magnesium Sulfate Patients

  • 1:3 Couplet (Mother/Baby) Care

  • 1:1 Sick Nursery Assignments

Required Certifications

  • Active RN State License

  • BLS

  • ACLS

  • NRP

  • AWHONN Intermediate

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

  • 1 year of EPIC experience required

  • First-time travelers may be considered based on overall experience
