Description| GCIs Housekeeper will perform various housekeeping tasks for guest lodging facilities at GCIs Agulowak Retreat. Maintain adequate inventory of linens and cleaning supplies stock guest snack and beverage items set up daily coffee/tea service in guest buildings. Interact with guests ensuring a quality experience. |
| ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS: |
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks including changing bedding cleaning bathrooms sweeping straightening guest rooms common areas and kitchens.
- Launder bedding and linens and keep an adequate inventory of clean linens for guest use.
- Perform periodic window cleaning dusting sweeping mopping and other deep cleaning tasks of guest facilities.
- Assist Server & Housekeeper as needed.
| - Set-up and maintain daily coffee/tea service in all guest cabins.
- Stock beverage coolers and guest snack items.
- Wash dishes associated with guest beverage service ensure an adequate supply of clean dishes for guest use.
- Light and maintain fireplace and woodstoves in guest facilities.
- Periodically straighten guest common areas decks and sauna building throughout the day.
| - Interact with guests and assist them in taking advantage of Retreat activities.
- Answer telephone and take messages for Retreat guests and staff.
| - Assist with organization and maintenance of Retreat supplied guest outdoor apparel.
| - Assist in maintaining Retreat flowerpots and beds.
- Possess a thorough understanding of how a Retreat operates and what tasks must be performed to accomplish operational objectives and ensure high quality service for guests.
- Possess basic housekeeping skills and knowledge regarding the safe use of various cleaning tools equipment and chemicals.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement company safety procedures and Retreat safety policies.
- Ability to prioritize tasks work both independently and as a team and to communicate effectively with Retreat guests and staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Required: *A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis - High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a position with a similar range of duties and responsibilities. *
- Completion of the following company provided courses within 30 days of start date:
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Preferred: - Telecommunications experience.
- Other relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS: - This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations offices worksites or other locations as needed.

| PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS: |
- This position requires living and working at a remote Alaskan retreat for a period of approximately five (5) months (room and board provided).
- Transportation to and from the retreat requires traveling by small aircraft and/or boat.
- Must be willing and able to work seven (7) days per week.
- Position is physically demanding requiring daily long hours of standing moving bending and reaching.
- Some duties involve exposure to cleaning agents solvents chemicals and working outdoors in various Alaskan weather conditions.
- Must be physically capable of safely and effectively performing a variety of functions involving moving transporting positioning and maneuvering equipment supplies and loads of up to 50 lbs.
- Must be physically capable of performing job duties safely and effectively such as cleaning serving and stocking.
- Ability to work shifts as assigned.
- Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
- Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
- Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.
- Available to work additional time on weekends holidays before or after normal work hours when necessary.
