Job Title: Permanent Hospitalist Physician

Join a dedicated team at a 61-bed not-for-profit community hospital located in the picturesque southeastern region of Vermont. Our facility is committed to delivering exceptional compassionate patient-centered care to a rural population across Vermont New Hampshire and Massachusetts. We are seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to become part of our collaborative and mission-driven medical staff.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions daily rounding and discharges.
• Evaluate diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Deliver evidence-based patient-centered care.
• Collaborate closely with specialists primary care providers nurses and ancillary services.
• Coordinate patient care plans ensuring smooth transitions of care.
• Order interpret and act on laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
• Document all patient encounters and care plans in the EMR.
• Respond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situations.
• Provide ventilator management.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and medical ethics.
• No procedures required and specialty backup available.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine).
• Active Vermont Medical License.
• DEA must be obtained prior to start.
• BLS and ACLS Certifications.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Experience running codes.
• 2-3 years Hospitalist experience (highly preferred).
• Rural health experience (highly preferred).
• Clean malpractice history.
• Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active).

License and Certification Requirements:
