This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to shape and guide Councils Access to Information and Privacy functions. The role is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of Councils access to information and privacy frameworks ensuring strong statutory compliance while embedding best practice and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
You will play a key advisory role delivering high-quality specialist guidance on access to information matters in line with the Government Information (Public Access) Act as well as privacy advice under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998. Working closely with senior leaders employees and key stakeholders you will support informed decision-making and promote a culture of transparency accountability and trust.
This position offers the opportunity to influence organisational practice strengthen governance and lead meaningful improvements in how information and privacy obligations are managed. It is ideally suited to a confident leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to translate complex legislative requirements into practical organisation wide solutions.

$87711 - $100867 per annum plus superannuation
You will hold a Certificate IV in Policy Governance Business Administration or an equivalent qualification with demonstrated experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of corporate governance. You have sound knowledge of key legislation including the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Local Government Act 1993. You communicate clearly and effectively with strong report writing and presentation skills and can manage competing priorities in a politically sensitive environment. You are organised solutions-focused committed to quality service delivery and able to build effective working relationships using well-developed negotiation problem-solving and technology skills.
