The purpose of the HSES Advisor position is to provide oversight and drive consistent implementation of the Health Safety and Environmental systems across the sites to ensure the organisation meets its legal and ethical obligation to provide a safe and environmentally conscious workplace
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop implement and maintain health safety environmental and sustainability policies in line with Australian regulations.
- Conduct regular audits inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards manage risks and drive corrective actions.
- Provide practical advice and support to leaders and employees on HSE and sustainability matters.
- Lead thorough incident investigations ensuring rootcause analysis and timely reporting to relevant authorities.
- Stay up to date with legislative and industry changes updating policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Deliver training and awareness programs to build capability and promote a strong safety culture.
- Collaborate across departments to embed HSE and sustainability considerations into everyday operations and decisionmaking.
- Establish monitor and report on KPIs to evaluate and continuously improve HSE and sustainability performance.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role youll have:
- Proven experience in HSE and sustainability management within an Australian manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian health safety environmental and sustainability legislation.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data identify trends and recommend meaningful improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership capability including experience driving crossfunctional initiatives.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and incident investigation aligned with Australian regulatory standards.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced manufacturing setting.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in environmental science occupational health and safety sustainability or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or Diploma of Work Health and Safety are advantageous.
- Training and certifications in specific Australian regulations and standards relevant to manufacturing operations (e.g. WHS Act AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018) are preferred.
