Job Summary

TOMRA Collection Australia are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Statistician - Geospatial Forecasting to play a key role in guiding strategic business decisions across the Pacific region.

 In this role youll leverage geospatial and volume data to support site planning and optimisation assess profitability and ensure our network coverage aligns with service delivery goals.

With a strong foundation in data modelling and statistical analysis youll evaluate key variables such as population density socioeconomic indicators drive-time accessibility and competitive landscape. Youll also lead the governance of geospatial mapping standards across TCA ensuring accuracy consistency and compliance in all mapping activities.

Some other duties may include (But not limited to):

  • Develop and optimise geospatial and financial data models to forecast site profitability and performance potential for individual sites and networks of collection points across Pacific markets.
  • Analyse demographic economic and mobility datasets to inform site selection strategies.
  • Conduct holistic reviews of state networks to identify service gaps overlaps and opportunities for improved user convenience.
  • Recommend network adjustments or expansions based on data-driven insights and user accessibility needs.
  • Ensure geospatial mapping governance is maintained across TCA including adherence to data standards documentation protocols and version control.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align mapping outputs with business goals and operational feasibility.
  • Create visual mapping outputs and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update mapping databases and ensure data integrity.
  • Liaise with external data providers and local authorities to enrich datasets.
  • Contribute to stakeholder mapping and engagement planning.

Qualifications :

What makes a great Geospatial Data Analyst at TOMRA:

  • Bachelors degree in data science Statistics Economics or related fields that include multivariate statistics modelling
  • Proven experience in data modelling and multivariate statistics and associated software tools
  • Experience or interest in learning GIS tools (e.g. ArcGIS QGIS) Excel and data visualisation platforms.
  • Strong understanding of demographic and socioeconomic data sources.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with Pacific region market dynamics is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of governance frameworks and experience implementing data standards across teams.
