About the role
AEMOs Western Australian System Design and Transformation Groups purpose is to identify plan and manage emerging WA energy system challenges and opportunities to ensure the energy system remains secure and reliable.
You will be responsible for delivering the long-term energy outlooks for Western Australias electricity and gas demand and supply to support industry in planning for the transition to a reliable secure affordable and sustainable energy future. This is achieved in collaboration with business industry and Government stakeholders through analysing current and future trends forecasting demand and modelling integrated electricity and gas systems that also capture the changing consumer dynamics. A key responsibility will be to manage and coach team members.
What you will be doing
- Lead the Future System Planning and Forecasting team including attracting retaining nurturing and developing a high-performing team that demonstrates AEMOs values and has an inclusive and innovative culture.
- Lead the development of AEMOs annual flagship long-term planning publications: the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) Electricity Statement of Opportunities (ESOO) and the WA Gas Statement of Opportunities (GSOO).
- Lead AEMOs contributions to other major planning initiatives including: the Whole of System Plan developed by Energy Policy WA (EPWA); and Transmission System Plan developed by Western Power.
- Develop technical insights and content to communicate emerging system security and reliability issues and opportunities including for AEMOs Quarterly Energy Dynamics (QED) publication.
- Engage with proponents of future projects in the SWIS to ensure long-term requirements are satisfied in light of rapid energy transition.
