Job Summary

Step into a leadership role where your expertise shapes the future of risk management in Australia. As an Associate Director in our Operational Risk & Resilience (OR&R) team youll play a pivotal role advising ASXlisted companies major financial institutions government agencies and national brands on how to strengthen governance uplift operational resilience and drive sustainable performance.

This is a strategic and highly visible role. Youll work directly with Csuite executives and Boards providing insights that influence critical decisions and help organisations navigate an increasingly complex risk landscape.

What Youll Do

Based in Sydney youll lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-impact engagements across:

Risk transformation including uplift of enterprise-wide risk capabilities
Operational risk and controls design implementation and optimisation
Operational resilience frameworks scenario testing and readiness assessments
Regulatory and compliance advisory including APRA/ASIC matters

In this senior leadership role you will:

Provide strategic leadership

Shape engagement strategy set direction for project teams and ensure delivery excellence.
Advise senior executives on best practice governance risk and resilience.

Drive complex problem solving

Leverage KPMGs global methodologies insights and data to solve clients most critical challenges.
Translate complex risk issues into actionable business-aligned recommendations.

Build trusted relationships

Engage directly with Boards Chief Risk Officers and functional executives.
Lead workshops executive briefings and present compelling client-ready insights.

Grow and develop people

Mentor and coach junior and mid-level team members.
Foster a high-performing inclusive team culture.

Lead business development

Identify opportunities to expand client relationships.
Contribute to proposals thought leadership and go-to-market initiatives.

Who You Are

You are an experienced strategic risk professional with a passion for helping organisations thrive in a challenging environment.

You bring:

Experience in operational risk controls advisory enterprise risk internal audit or regulatory environments (APRA/ASIC highly regarded)
Proven experience leading complex engagements and managing senior stakeholders
Strong understanding of governance business processes operational risk and controls frameworks
Excellent communication and reportwriting skills
Demonstrated capability in people leadership coaching and team development
A collaborative commercial mindset and a natural ability to build trusted relationships
