Work Schedule:

Hours vary and may include day evening and weekend responsibilities. Courses are taught in a classroom setting and may include a lab component. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.

Rate of Pay/Benefits:

This is a Part-Time Adjunct Faculty position with the following pay rate per contact hour:

Less than MA: $1069 MA or Above: $1109

The offer will be based on education and experience in alignment with the Colleges compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) if applicable.

Job Summary:

Adjunct teaching faculty provide instruction aligned with the colleges strategic goals and evaluate students progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related health science field
  2. Must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current Illinois State RCP license.
  3. Four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
  4. Two (2) years of experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.

Desired Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Essential Duties:

Deliver Instruction

assigned classes labs and/or clinicals.

2. Prepare lessons

3. Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards attendance policies classroom behavioral expectations course outline and contact information)

4. Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets

If a lab is involved:

5. Prepare labs

6. Enforce lab safety procedures

Evaluate Student Progress

1. Keep accurate record of student performance

2. Provide students with timely feedback

Provide Student Assistance

1. Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication

2. Refer students to student support services

3. Accommodate special needs students
