The Opportunity

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and professional nursing practice. This role supervises the activities and provides direction to the Registered Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides.

What You Will Do

Coordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.

Leads shift report with members of the health care team ensuring that all team members are informed of changes in residents status.

Records significant changes in residents condition; ensures documentation in the residents chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.

Reviews and processes physician orders as per procedure ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible. Immediately communicates difficulties in processing physician orders to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.

What You Bring

A sound knowledge and background in geriatric rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation nursing and personnel administration.

Bachelors Degree in Nursing.

Registration and membership in good standing with provincial registry.

- Training in PCC and knowledge of Continuing Care Standards is an asset.
