Whats the role

As a Senior Manager in the Group Regulatory Affairs team you will be responsible for managing effective and proactive engagement with our key regulators to help deliver our regulatory strategy.

Group Regulatory Affairs drives a consistent and cohesive approach to regulatory interactions that promotes open constructive and co-operative regulatory relationships building mutual trust and confidence between our regulators and Westpac.

We are a high-performing team who are trusted partners and fast enablers providing leadership and oversight for sound risk management and safeguarding the Group as we aspire to be our customers #1 bank and partner through life.

This is a 12-month max term opportunity based in eitherSydney or Melbourne. Youll work closely with senior leaders across the Group providing expert advice and helping shape Westpacs regulatory strategy from the inside out.

What do I need

To thrive in this role youll bring a mix of regulatory insight strategic thinking and relationship building skills that allow you to influence outcomes and drive meaningful engagement. You will have:

  • A solid understanding of Australias regulatory environment including experience engaging directly with APRA and/or ASIC.
  • Confidence and credibility when interacting with senior stakeholders and regulators knowing how to build trust and influence outcomes.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and offer constructive challenge in managing regulatory engagements.
  • Flexibility and resilience to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines without losing focus.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into clear actionable insights for a range of audiences.
