Position Summary

Were looking for a ceramics instructor for a girls summer camp to lead engaging beginner-friendly clay projects. The instructor will teach basic handbuilding techniques such as pinch coil and slab while creating a fun supportive and creative environment. Ideal candidates are patient reliable experienced working with young beginners and has experience with glazing and kiln firing.

Duties and Specific Responsibilities

Model for students the mission and values of Presentation High School.

Demonstrate subject matter competency and the ability to communicate that to middle school students.

Be available to students who need assistance.

Exercise professionalism always with students parents and colleagues.

Education & Experience

Experience with middle school students is preferred.

Ability to work collaboratively to promote student learning.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Experience supervising/managing others is preferred.

The Summer School Teacher must be able to:

• lift and/or carry moderate weight:10-20 lbs. of school materials such as textbooks.
• Spend a considerable amount of the day on their feet and walking around campus

Work Environment

This position includes supervising programming around campus including outdoors.
