Company Background:
We are representing our established client in civil engineering construction industry. They are specialize in constructing road bridges airport road and maintenance of highway. As they continue to expand they are looking for suitable candidate to join them as Quantity Surveyor
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administers formal bids and proposals negotiate and finalize terms of agreements with vendors negotiate local supply contracts issue request for tenders and proposals for acquisition of professional services
- Interfaces with internal department and personnel as well as outside agencies to resolve materials supply issues or concerns and exchange information
- Prepare bill of quantities as per approved rate and budget
- Control and monitor expenses within the budget assure fiscal responsibility and cost consciousness
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level Report directly to superior in tackling any occurred problem related to pricing material supply etc.
- To advise project management on all contractual value and cost issues relating to projects as they arise; costing variations trends and extra works; preparing valuations and ensuring payments are received in accordance with contract conditions
- Assisting with/preparing contractual claims; monitoring and approving subcontractor accounts
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Quantity Surveying Construction Management or related field
- 25 years experience in civil engineering or construction projects preferably with exposure to road/highway works
- Knowledge of contract administration tendering and vendor negotiations
- Familiarity with preparing bills of quantities project costing and budget monitoring
- Understanding of construction materials rates and cost control practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of project management or costing software is a plus
