Location: Remote (United States) Preference for candidates based in San Francisco

We are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing AI infrastructure company that develops a high-performance vector database used in semantic search RAG systems AI agents and real-time recommendation platforms.
We are seeking a Developer Relations Engineer who combines strong technical skills with a passion for education community building and developer engagement.
This role is approximately:

60% hands-on technical work

40% content creation events and community engagement
About the Role
As a Developer Relations Engineer you will help developers build advanced AI applications by creating demos educational content and technical resources.
You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams while engaging with the developer community through workshops conferences and online platforms.
This position offers strong exposure to the modern AI stack and an opportunity to influence how developers build next-generation applications.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Product Evangelism

Build and maintain open-source demo applications such as:
-
RAG pipelines
-
AI search tools
-
Recommendation systems
-

Research emerging AI architectures and prototype new use cases
-
Experiment with embedding models indexing techniques and vector search patterns
Content & Education
-
Write technical blog posts tutorials and documentation
-
Produce educational videos or technical walkthroughs
-
Translate complex technical concepts into accessible learning materials
Community & Events
-
Represent the company at hackathons workshops and conferences
-
Deliver technical talks presentations and live coding sessions
-
Engage with developers on platforms such as GitHub Discord LinkedIn and technical forums
-
Participate in local meetups and developer communities
Internal Collaboration

Provide feedback from the developer community to product and engineering teams

Help identify product improvements and new feature opportunities
Requirements
-
Strong programming experience in Python Rust JavaScript or Go
-
Understanding of:
-
APIs and backend systems
-
Databases or distributed systems
-
Modern AI stack (LLMs embeddings RAG vector search)

Experience building technical demos tutorials or developer tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Comfortable presenting technical material to audiences
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in developer advocacy DevRel or technical evangelism

Experience with vector search ML infrastructure or AI tooling

Background contributing to open-source projects

Experience speaking at technical events or conferences

Familiarity with cloud environments and containerized applications
