Job Description
As SAP BASIS support lead one needs to manage the technical administration performance and stability of SAP landscapes (ECC S/4HANA BW APO etc.). Key responsibilities include leading a team for 12x5 support located in India handling complex installations upgrades patching transport management and ensuring disaster recovery procedures. The job responsibilities also include coordinating the transition activities and then moving the services into steady state. 24X7 on-call support for critical and P0 tickets coordination with the SAP functional support non-SAP support and third-parties are part of the job responsibilities.
Your Role
Technical Leadership:Mentoring and leading a team of Basis administrators assigning tasks and driving L3 issue resolution.
System Administration:Installing configuring and maintaining SAP systems (ECC S/4HANA BW SolMan PI/PO BTP).
Maintenance & Patching:Performing kernel upgrades Support Package (SP) updates and database patching (HANA Oracle etc.).
Performance Tuning:Monitoring system performance optimizing parameters and troubleshooting issues to ensure high availability.
Job Management : Managing and monitoring batch job management solution such as Cronacle $Universe
Transport Management:Managing the Transport Management System (TMS) and managing system refreshes.
Security & Compliance:Ensuring SAP security policies are met and managing user access.
Documentation:Creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
Experience:15 years in SAP Basis Administration with min 3 years of team lead experience. Working with global teams especially based out of India is a key expectation of the role.
Technical Skills:Strong hands-on experience with S/4HANA ECC SAP HANA database and Linux/Unix environments.
Support:Experience in managing SLA-driven support teams and handling high-severity incidents.
Soft Skills:Strong communication troubleshooting and leadership abilities. English will be the primary mode of communication and knowledge in French & German is a definite advantage.
Leading and working experience on the below activities
Hands on experience in SAP BASIS tasks such as Designing & Implementing Landscape and Infrastructure Client Strategy Capacity Planning (Sizing) High-Availability & Disaster Recovery setup Backup & Recovery Strategy Storage systems SAP Upgrades OS/DB Migration presales Solutioning and Basis Administration
Install configure maintain and support multiple SAP landscapes and 3rd party tools
Experience with creation and evolution of the SAP technology roadmap that defines current technical architectures future architectures and the evolution for transition for all projects
Serve as a subject matter expert & focal point for architectural frameworks
In-depth knowledge of technology stack for SAP Enterprise Core Component (ECC) Business Intelligence (BI) WebSAPConsole Enterprise Portal (EP) SAP HANA S/4 HANA SLD Process Integration (XI) SAP CRM SAP SRM SAP SUS SRM MDM Supplier Portal Web Dispatcher cFolders Content Server CUA SAP JVM and Solution Manager etc.
Experience in Net Weaver Enhancement Package latest versions
Experience in SAP HANA and S/4HANA OS/DB Migrations and Cloud
Responsible for providing advanced SAP Basis technical expertise and leadership in the development and implementation of SAP solutions to support Companys business
Thorough understanding of available technology tools and existing designs. Participate in managing a complex landscape consisting of dedicated Global and Regional SAP systems
Monitor and maintain SAP systems environments for optimum performance and be proactive in identifying potential problems (environments include Sandbox Development QA and Production). Perform core Basis functions (e.g. corrections support packs kernels transports)
Analyzing the impact of the proposed technical solutions. Assist in creating and modifying strategies resolve problems and document issues and resolutions.
Willing to work in 24x7 and extended hours support environment
Preferred
Well versed with the entire business suite of SAP
Strong understanding of all phases of systems implementation and the software development life cycle
Ability to clearly communicate technology issues plans and solutions from both a business perspective and a technical perspective providing pros and cons for recommended solutions
Understanding methodologies and their interaction with other business processes / applications
Presales proposal writing client presentation
Experience of working with global delivery models including offshore and multi-cultural teams
Demonstrated thought leadership through business papers white papers case studies etc.
Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team
Analytical and Communication skills
Project talent management and thought leadership
ITIL Certification and SAP Certification will be an added advantage
