Stand Together isseekinga highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of financial reporting experience a thorough understanding of accounting principles and a passion for accuracy and continuous improvement. This roleprovidesan opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization by ensuring the integrity andaccuracyof our financial position supports month-end close activities prepares key reconciliations analyzes financial data and partners across the Accounting and Finance team tomaintainstrong internal controls.

This role is based in Arlington Virginia with hybrid work schedule of at least 3 days a week aligned to the responsibilities of the role.

How You Will Contribute

Prepare and analyze financial statementsin accordance withUS GAAP and organizational policies.
Performthoroughbalance sheet review and ensuredeepunderstanding of transactions that make up the financial statements.
Coordinate with auditors and manage the audit process including providing supporting documentation and explanations as needed.
Review and assess new accounting standards implementing changes to reporting processes asrequired.
Identifyopportunities for process improvements and automation within the financial reporting function.
Assistwith complex accounting transactionsas they come up in anever-changinglandscape.
Draft technical accounting memos andassistinmaintainingaccounting policies.
Collaborate cross-functionally withfinancetax and operational accounting teams.
Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Support intercompany reconciliations and invoice processes.
Recommend and implement process improvements.
Utilize advanced Excel skills and accounting systems.

What You Will Bring

Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial reporting experience.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP financial statement preparation and technical accounting issues.
Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems (Sage Adaptive Concur).
Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Standout Candidates Will Bring

Bachelors degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification.
Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
