Job Summary

Location: hybrid with work on site across Uxbridge and Ruislip and home

Salary: Competitive plus benefits including car

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday

Ground Control is playing a key role in delivering environmental and soft landscaping works on HS2 one of Europes largest infrastructure programmes.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Soft Landscaping to lead the strategic delivery of a major HS2 contract. This is a high-profile role shaping landscapes that will leave a lasting environmental legacy delivered safely sustainably and commercially successfully.

What youll do;

As Project Manager you will hold full accountability for contract performance governance and delivery. You will provide strategic direction manage senior stakeholder relationships and ensure seamless integration of landscaping works within the wider HS2 programme.

You will lead on safety sustainability quality and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities;

Strategic & Contract Leadership

Lead the HS2 soft landscaping contract ensuring alignment with HS2 objectives and environmental commitments.

Oversee programme cost quality safety and sustainability outcomes.

Manage governance change control and risk under NEC contracts.

Ensure compliance with contractual legal and environmental requirements.

Programme & Delivery

Oversee mobilisation and delivery of soil preparation planting habitat creation and establishment works.

Integrate landscaping with earthworks civils and mitigation programmes.

Monitor milestones and KPIs driving performance improvement.

Health Safety & Sustainability

Act as a visible safety leader.

Ensure compliance with HS2 environmental standards and biodiversity net gain targets.

Lead carbon reduction and responsible sourcing initiatives.

Proactively manage environmental risks.

Stakeholder & Commercial Management

Act as senior interface with SCS joint ventures and designers.

Represent Ground Control at senior project meetings and audits.

Oversee budgets forecasts cost control and compensation events.

Ensure supply chain performance meets commercial and sustainability standards.

Leadership

Lead and develop senior project teams.

Ensure effective resourcing and succession planning.

Champion Ground Control values and inclusive behaviours

What were looking for:

We are looking for applications from candidates with existing senior leadership experience delivering large-scale landscaping construction projects ideally managing major UK infrastructure programmes

In addition you will need;

Strong knowledge of soft landscaping and environmental mitigation.

Experience operating under NEC contracts.

Strong stakeholder and commercial capability.

NVQ Level 6 Black Card CSCS or equivalent

Any previous experience working on HS2 or a nationally significant infrastructure project would be ideal but is not essential as well as Chartered status (MAPM CEng MCIOB or equivalent).
