Position: Cisco Catalyst

Location: Various hospitals around Boston MA (on-site 5 days per week)

Duration: 6 months contract

Description:

Notes:

• BILH is looking for assistance with an access switch refresh at several of their hospital campuses.
• There are approximately 150 closet that need to be upgraded.
• Closet switches range from Qty 1 to Qty 6 in a stack depending on the area/department
• Upgrading Cisco 2960s and 4500s to newer Cisco 9300s and Catalyst 9500s
• Position will require contractor to work during different shifts depending on each hospital departments required maintenance windows (50% will be cable by cable which occurs during normal business hours).
• Will pay mileage for any travel beyond initial reporting for the day.

Must Haves:

• Intermediate to senior level experience with newer Cisco Catalyst switching platforms.
• Must have strong Layer 2 switching experience (configuration deployment testing and troubleshooting)
• Have good fundamental knowledge and application of OSPF for routing functions on the network

Nice to Haves:

• Infoblox (DNS DHCP and IP Address Management)
• Other similar tools will suffice

Responsibilities:

• Engineer will conduct onsite closet surveys to evaluate existing power rack space port counts etc. to accommodate new switches
• Determine how switches need to be configured according to results from closet survey
• Establish upgrade method (cable by cable in place upgrade or full stack upgrade) in accordance with established customer procedures
• Coordinate switch upgrade and cutover windows with various departments.
• Work with BILH staff on project activities and escalations as needed.
