Job Summary

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University Singapore in partnership with Imperial College London LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The Schools primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical August 2024 we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine with an emphasis on technology data science and the humanities.

We are seeking a motivated Senior Assistant Manager Research Programme who will oversee the establishment planning execution administration and reporting of a new IAF-PP funded research programme led by NTU and involving project teams/collaborators across multiple institutions entitled Platform technology to discover lineage control networks that reprogram cell identity for industrial applications. This role requires an experienced project manager with strong stakeholder engagement skills knowledge of the global and local biotech landscape ability to coordinate across institutions government agencies and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project management execution and administration

  • Plan coordinate report and/or communicate project plans budgets timelines and activities to stakeholders (internal/external) including the grantor

  • Lead performance reporting of initiatives. This includes collecting and analysing data to understand our progress and impact and assessing where changes are required

  • Engage with and support the researchers and other stakeholders across the institutions government agencies and industry partners involved in the project. This includes identifying research bottlenecks and suggesting research strategies and actions to increase productivity and impact.

  • Monitor current clinical and industry trends and needs in the projects specific area and identify commercial opportunities for the project stakeholders

  • Participate in the project outcomes dissemination preparing or assisting with reports presentations conference announcements and research publications

  • Identify and attract potential industry partners in the biotech/pharma space

  • Assist the researchers with follow up funding

  • Assist in the translation and monetisation of the project outcomes in close collaboration with the respective technology transfer offices and BMS IPO

  • Assist in the incubation and initial setup of potential spinoffs

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biotechnology Biomedical Sciences Molecular Biology or equivalent field.

  • At least 4 years of work experience in project and grant management with proven ability to follow reporting process timelines and meet project milestones

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English including the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to various audiences

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including academics government agencies and industry partners

  • Experience in applying for research and/or industry funding is preferred

  • Good knowledge of the local and regional biotech and pharma ecosystem is preferred

  • Experience with technology transfer business development and startups is preferred
