EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Masters Degree
- Valid Colorado Principal Licensure
- Three years successful teaching successful leadership internship at least three years of successful elementary school or K-8 teaching experience.
Preferred:
- CPI training (may be obtained upon hire)
- Spanish speaker
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: The assistant principal will be a member of the administrative team at the elementary school level. General responsibilities include directly supporting the elementary school principal in the day-to-day management of all aspects of operating a comprehensive elementary school including promoting the academic achievement and educational well-being of each student.

Experience in School Leadership
Familiar with the other administrative activities of the building. Serves as the building administrator in the absence of the principal. Assists the principal with the overall administration of the school. Supervises student conduct within the schools oversees disciplinary procedures and maintains records of any disciplinary action. Assists the principal with staff appraisal and evaluation. Assist the principal in the implementation of district curriculum. Work with principal to support the work of the MTSS team. Works with principal for after school activities.
Skilled in Communication Assessments and Curriculum
Assists with supervision at activities. Represents the building at district-required meetings. Assists the principal and staff in the establishment of budget priorities and makes appropriate recommendations to the principal. Works with the principal in facilitating advisory committees addressing committee needs and in compiling appropriate data information or reports. Administers school procedures regarding attendance and supervises preparation of necessary reports. Engages in community and family events. Demonstrates an ability to communicate well both orally and in writing to various audiences and has the potential or ability to lead groups with a consensus approach. Serves as the School Assessment Coordinator.
Familiar with Maintaining School Facilities
Responsible for school and non-school use of facilities. Assists the principal in supervising activities held in the school facilities. Assists with supervising after school programs.

- Knowledge and skills sufficient to perform all duties of the position.
