Position Overview:
The City of Prince Albert is looking for an organized individual to work in our Pottery Studio at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre providing support to the Pottery Studio programs and instructors. The studio includes a large program space pottery wheels a kiln room with four kilns glaze room and storage areas.
Required Qualifications:
The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge of pottery be a self starter and
have the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision;
Grade 12
Valid drivers license
A post-secondary education in a related field (ceramics or fine arts) or a combination of
equivalent education and experience is preferred;
WHMIS
First Aid and CPR C is an asset
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintaining pottery studio inventory such as tools reclaimed clay and glazes
Loading and unloading kilns (firing)
Routine cleaning and maintenance of all pottery studio areas (shelves kilns storage glaze room laundry etc.)
Enforcing Pottery Studio rules or policies and communicating with users
Providing studio orientation to new instructors and independent potters
Ensuring WHMIS and NSDA standards are being met
