This is an exciting opportunity to teachIB DP English Literature and/or Language & Literature (SL & HL) and/or English First Peoples 10 while playing a meaningful role in students academic and personal growth. Beyond the classroom you will serve as a Homeroom Advisor contribute to a rich co-curricular programme and depending on experience may have the opportunity to teach an additional subject such as Theory of Knowledge (TOK).
About the Role
As a member of our passionate and professional faculty you will:
- Teach IB DP English Literature and/or Language & Literature (SL & HL) and/or English First Peoples 10
- Inspire students to achieve outstanding levels of academic excellence and personal engagement
- Demonstrate a deep love of English language literature and inquiry-based learning
- Serve as Homeroom Advisor to approximately 12 Senior School students
- Supervise Extended Essays as assigned by the Extended Essay Coordinator

Required Qualifications
- Eligible to work in Canada (or willing to apply for the appropriate visa with school support)
- Eligible for or willing to obtain BC teacher certification
- Minimum of 5 years experience teaching English to adolescents
- Bachelors degree in English Literature (or equivalent)
- Bachelors degree in Education (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of and experience with the IB Diploma Programme (English Literature or Language & Literature)
Preferred Experience and Qualities
- Involvement with the IB Educator Network (Workshop Leader Examiner etc.)
- Masters degree in English Literature (or equivalent)
- Experience teaching an additional DP or MYP subject (e.g. TOK)
- Strong organisational communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team
