• Discovery and understanding 

• Client adoption strategy and strategic project setup 

• Project and programme BIM execution planning

Turner & Townsend Digital Europe are looking for an exceptional Principal Consultant to join our growing team. The successful applicant will help implement BIM on behalf of our clients worldwide; co-managing the BIM team leading a team and being responsible for project delivery.  The role will be based in Finland (near Oulu)

Specific duties 

• Implement change within client organisations including Turner & Townsend and assist with upskilling to guide and mentor clients through the BIM process 

• Lead and support our team in the implementation of BIM on major projects and programmes.  

• Authoring of key BIM documentation such as Asset Information Requirements Employer Information Requirements and where applicable BIM Execution Plans. 

• Assessing project teams BIM competency advising the development of the project BIM Execution Plans and approving on behalf of Client where necessary. 

• Assure project BIM standards are being followed by project stakeholders reporting key risks and effective mitigations. 

• Lead model assurance activities including; definition of strategy and approach model analysis technical and plain language reporting. 

• Chair and lead BIM workgroup and Technical BIM sessions with the project team to present outcomes of model assurance activities. 

Project contributions 

• Advise Turner & Townsends project managers and project teams with regard to BIM best practices  

• Oversee and interface with Design Team and Information managers to ensure information coordination 

• Review and approve BIM documentation and strategic documents  

• Understand and assess BIM competency of supply chains clients and design teams  

• Understand and navigate through Building Information Models (visual and detailed interrogation) 

• Pay due diligence to security standards and confidentiality agreements 

Qualifications :

Skills and Experience 

Typically a qualified professional in a relevant discipline five or more years relevant experience in a BIM environment is a key component of the role. The applicant should be familiar with ISO 19650 standards and guidelines and be an enthusiastic proactive self-starters with well-developed communications and analytical skills. 

Previous experience working in a BIM environment on a major project or programme would be ideal evidence of BIM courses and modules would strengthen your application. Expected to be numerate and computer literate competent in at least one of the following model checking and model authoring softwares: 

• Solibri Model Checker 

• Autodesk Navisworks 

• Autodesk Revit 

• Graphisoft ArchiCAD 

• Bentley AECOsim 

• Nemetschek Vectorworks 

• Autodesk Civil3D 

• Bentley Synchro 

Core competencies 

• Enthusiastic and positive team player - Giving the project team confidence in the use of BIM 

• Excellent Communicator ability to provide clear guidance to the whole project team to coordinate a successful outcome 

• Experience in writing clear concise requirements and documentation. 

• Understanding of design BIM and procurement and its application in planning and construction management 

• Understanding of BIM Competency Assessments of supply chains 

• Proven systematic approach to problem solving and model development protocols 

• Proven experience in multidisciplinary working practices and interdependencies 

• Proven client facing experience  

• Up to date knowledge of BIM technology and interoperability standards / good all round technical knowledge and enthusiasm
