Mental Health Nurse

Are you a Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care Darwin Private Hospital is looking to employ a Registered Nurse for their Mental Health Unit. As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:

• Work in partnership with the MDT patients and families in decision-making regarding provision of care promoting beneficial relationships.
• Deliver quality nursing care by Assessing Planning Implementing and Evaluating individual treatment plans.
• Ensure patient and staff safety
• Provide a standard of care according to the individuals level of experience and education maintaining high quality nursing care within a safe environment.
• Develop and utilise strategies that encourage an atmosphere conductive to effective communication.
• Be proactive in your contribution to Quality Improvement service development and patient safety initiatives in the clinic.
• Clinically collaborates with multidisciplinary team through developing inpatient programs triaging inpatient admissions and participating in case conference meetings with treating psychiatrists.

As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including General Surgery Orthopaedics Gynaecology Ophthalmology Plastic and Reconstructive Urology Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter February 2021 a purpose built 18 bed inpatient Mental Health & AoD Unit The Darwin Clinic opened a new service for patients in the Northern Territory. It also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program.

Our world-class private hospital attracts patients from across the greater Northern Territory Western Australia remote aboriginal communities and even offshore. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia.

About you:

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the requirements below:

• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health (or working towards)
• 5 years Clinical Experience
• Working with Children check
• Commitment to Quality Patient Care
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
• Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Works well independently and within a team

If you are successful in the role you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope Darwin Private Hospital Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement ($40.48 - $54.60 per hour)
