Job Summary
GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJs relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand clients needs attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.
Position Summary
GHJ Search & Staffing has partnered with a growing company seeking a VP Finance to lead the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and prepare SEC filings including Forms 10-K 10-Q and other required public company disclosures
- Lead full-cycle accounting operations including month-end and quarter-end close
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP SOX and ASC 606
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos and support audits and external reporting requirements
- Manage and develop a small accounting team (12 direct reports)
- Oversee internal controls compliance processes and coordination with external auditors and advisors
- Maintain and improve accounting processes policies and documentation in a fast-paced environment
- Work closely with cross-functional leaders to support business initiatives and future growth
- Operate comfortably in the details while maintaining a strategic mindset
Qualifications
- Public accounting experience required
- Demonstrated experience preparing and filing SEC reports (10-Ks 10-Qs)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP SOX compliance and revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a public company
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred
- CPA designation preferred
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a small accounting team
- Exceptional attention to detail with a willingness to get into the weeds
- Self-starter who thrives in a hands-on remote work environment
