Position Summary
JOB SUMMARY:The Computer Systems Technician I supports the computer systems classroom technologies and basic information technology infrastructure of the college ensuring that faculty and staff have the tools necessary to support the colleges students and mission. This role reports directly to the Director of Information Technology Services.
Direct Supervisory Responsibility: YES X NOEssential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: - Set up and maintains instructional technologies computer labs networks and faculty/staff PCs on all GSCC campuses
- Coordinates tasks with supervisor
- Upgrades software and equipment in computer labs.
- Provides faculty and staff with technical computer support
- Remains current with use of emerging technologies
- Is available for occasional evening and weekend computer system support
- Complies with all policies of the Alabama Community College System and the College
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Two (2) years of postsecondary education from an approved U.S. Department of Education accredited institution with a minimum of 15 semester hours in computer science electronics or related area required
- One (1) year of experience in a related position to include technical support required
- Note: The College may consider a combination of education training and experience that provides the necessary skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position
