Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Administers appropriate first aid medication and specialized treatments to students.
2. Records and maintains school health records including logs of visitors to the nurses office in a confidential and organized manner.
3. Contacts parents as needed regarding sick or injured children screening results or other health matters.
4. Coordinates with outside agencies and administers mandated health screenings.
5. Assesses individual student situations for possible referral including safety abuse drug use etc.
6. Provides student education and training regarding health and safety issues as requested by the building principal or teachers.
7. Collaborates with Director of Special Services in developing health plans for students with special needs.
8. Attends meetings as requested by Director of Special Services principal or teachers.
9. Maintains confidential student health files.
10. Reviews student records to ensure compliance with immunization requirements annually.
11. Maintains and disposes of medications in accordance with district policy.
12. Participates in appropriate professional development opportunities on a regular basis.
13. Complies with all federal state and local laws and board policies and procedures.
14. Utilizes professional behavior in all school related interactions.
15. Instructs 4th and 5th grade students in human growth and development and
HIV/AIDS education as determined by the District.
16. Instructs Abstinent training which includes HIV/AIDS for the 6th & 7th grade students as needed.
17. Conducts hearing and vision screenings. Assists Vizavance and or trained volunteers with screening programs for Pre-K 5th grades for vision the nurses provide PRE K 12th grade hearing screenings.
18. Assists with mitigation concerning COVID.
19. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Oklahoma School Nurse Certification
License from the State of Oklahoma to Practice as a Registered Nurse

Generally 7 Hour 20 Minute Day Exclusive of a (30) Minute Duty Free Lunch
