Job Summary

The Construction Account Manager will promote sell increase and preserve GFL Environmental Inc. solid waste services to businesses and industrial establishments in assigned territory by identifying new market areas maintaining current customers and developing strategies to outweigh competition. This individual will prepare sales contracts with knowledge of pricing costs and equipment with input from the Facility/General Manager.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify viable leads retain active accounts and acquire new business for the Construction line of business.

  • Maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends in a designated market to anticipate changing customer needs.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of companys available services per lines of business pricing structures and offer additional services specified by customer.

  • Establish long term business relationships with existing clients to grow revenue and meet pricing objectives.

  • Execute service agreements with customers.

  • Negotiate with customers to retain the relationship and associated revenue during pricing initiatives.

  • Builds relationships and increase company visibility through participation in company sponsored activities trade shows Chamber of Commerce events and similar activities.

  • Partner with Operations Team and Customer Service department to address customer needs.

  • Perform site visits as required.

  • Responsible for achieving and/or exceeding monthly retention and growth quota.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Competencies:

  • Sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding revenue quotas and managing a book of business.

  • The ability to achieve growth quotas learn quickly and apply knowledge to business goals

  • Advanced communication (written and verbal) organizational problem solving time management and negotiation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including effective presentation and listening skills.

  • Building and nurturing of internal and external customer relationships.

  • Strong work ethic demonstrating integrity and trust.

  • Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a high stress fast paced team environment

  • Flexibility to accept and adapt to change as well as the commitment to seek continuous improvement.



Physical/Mental Demands:
Ability to stand sit walk use hands and fingers reach stoop kneel crouch talk hear and climb.
Visual Requirements: include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Possess ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions:
Work involves extended periods of driving resulting in exposure to high vehicle traffic and extended periods of sitting.
Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions of heat cold and humidity.
Noise level is usually moderate but can become loud.
