Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Business Data Analyst to investigate and resolve data quality issues implement robust data quality processes and procedures and extract actionable insights that improve operations and optimise resources. This role requires strong experience in transaction monitoring data lineage controls and authoritative source identification combined with advanced analytical capability to manage transform and interpret complex data across the organisation.
What you will do:
- Investigate and analyse data issues related to quality lineage controls and authoritative source identification.
- Execute data cleansing and transformation tasks to prepare data for analysis.
- Design and build data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques including machine learning and AI to solve complex business problems.
- Document data quality findings and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Advise and influence decision-making and contribute to policy development to improve operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions to support data initiatives.
- Lead complex assignments and guide team members through structured analytical tasks.
- Identify opportunities to include additional areas of specialisation to complete assignments effectively.
- Consult on complex issues and provide guidance to support resolution of escalated data concerns.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies and procedures in support of governance and controls.
- Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls related to data processes.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly to varied audiences.
- Influence stakeholders to achieve data-related outcomes and improvements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst with a strong transaction monitoring background.
- Strong experience implementing data quality processes controls and governance practices.
- Experience working with data lineage and authoritative source identification.
- Experience in data cleansing transformation and preparation for analysis.
- Experience designing and building automated data pipelines.
- Experience applying advanced analytical techniques including machine learning and AI.
- Strong ability to analyse data from multiple sources and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information to diverse audiences.
- Experience working in cross-functional and matrixed environments.
- Strong understanding of risk management and control frameworks related to data.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and contribute to decision-making and policy development.
