The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water managing wastewater and stormwater and reducing air noise and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country with nearly 6000 employees. DEPs water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the systems 2000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Agency Chief Contracting Office (ACCO) is responsible for directing and managing all agency procurement and vendor payment activity. The ACCOs Office works cooperatively with DEPs operational and support bureaus to manage the procurement and payment processes to support their programs and operations requiring capital construction projects supplies and various services. The ACCO also coordinates with the Mayors Office of Contract Services (MOCS) the Comptrollers Office the Office of Management and Budget and other agencies.
The intern will work under minimal supervision and latitude for independent judgment. The selected candidate will be expected to:
- Review and verify contract and procurement milestones
- Perform quality audits and functions to ensure quality standards procedures and methodologies are being followed
- Complete other Quality Assurance tasks as assigned
- Participate as a manual tester on projects as needed which include validating Quality Assurance builds and defects
Support the business users during Users Acceptance Training (UAT) and manage issues during implementation
- Document all problems and assist in their resolution.
In addition the summer intern will develop a final presentation to display assignments they have been involved with while working as an intern at the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony.

Qualifications :
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college university or law school.
