Job Summary
The Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. This role ensures that critical instruments remain clean functional and available to support testing activities. The ideal candidate is detailoriented highly organized and comfortable working collaboratively with laboratory scientists in a fastpaced environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for routine laboratory equipment maintenance needs.
- Refill incubator water on a routine schedule to ensure proper function.
- Coordinate and perform annual disinfection of incubators and biosafety cabinets.
- Conduct monthly freezer deicing to support optimal equipment performance.
- Coordinate and perform annual freezer defrosts.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory scientists to schedule maintenance around active testing and minimize disruptions.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed and as time permits.
Qualifications :
- Associates degree with 35 years of experience or a high school diploma with 57 years of experience in an academic biotech or pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated experience performing laboratory equipment maintenance is required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
- Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information :
The position is onsite full-time first shift Monday through Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Cambridge MA are encouraged to apply.
