About the Role

The Talent Acquisition Manager leads the executive recruitment function and provides day-to-day guidance and support to the US Talent Acquisition team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for key leadership hires partnering closely with senior stakeholders to deliver a high-touch consultative hiring process. The Talent Acquisition Manager sets and reinforces best practices across the team provides feedback and calibration support to recruiters and personally owns full-cycle recruitment for executive-level roles from intake through close.

Responsibilities

  1. Coach and mentor Talent Acquisition team.
  2. Lead the end-to-end standardization of recruiting operations by consolidating and documenting global process guidelines (intake scorecards outreach expectations slate composition interview flow etc.).
  3. Run end-to-end executive searches (calibration market map slate close) with high stakeholder complexity.
  4. Build proactive evergreen pipelines that reduce future time-to-fill.
  5. Improve slate quality through stronger targeting and qualification.
  6. Increase offer acceptance through early alignment on comp motivations and decision velocity.
  7. Reduce reliance on external search partners by creating internal search muscle.

  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying challenges in the recruiting process and implementing creative solutions to overcome them ensuring a smooth and efficient hiring process.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities market conditions and business needs while maintaining a high level of performance and professionalism.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating job offers compensation packages and other employment terms to secure top talent while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Relationship Building: Skill in building and nurturing relationships with candidates hiring managers and cross-functional partners to facilitate successful hiring outcomes.

Experience (5 bullets max)

  1. At least 7 years of recruitment experience with expertise: Demonstrated experience in technical/corporate/executive recruiting with a proven track record of success in sourcing assessing and hiring engineering talent leveraging in-depth knowledge and understanding of technical roles technologies and skills required in engineering positions.
  2. At least 3-5 years of people management experience leading a talent acquisition function successfully.
  3. Education: Bachelor Degree Required; MBA or MHRM preferred.
  4. Certifications: SHRM/PHR certification preferred.
  5. Experience in Full-cycle Recruiting: Hands-on experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing and screening candidates to coordinating interviews booking travel conducting reference checks debriefing in hiring committees negotiating offers closing deals and onboarding new hires ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience.
  6. Startup or Turnaround experience: Proven ability to thrive in a startup-like environment with a proactive mindset strong initiative and a track record of taking ownership of recruitment processes and driving results.
  7. Healthy tenure: Demonstrated stability and commitment in previous roles with a track record of staying in positions for 2 or more years. Internal promotions within organizations are highly valued indicating strong career progression and contributions to company success.
  8. Strong TA Foundation: 2 years of agency recruitment experience preferred.
  9. Passion for gaming: Genuine enthusiasm for gaming and the gaming industry with a deep understanding of gaming culture trends and technologies.
  10. Las Vegas local or willingness to relocate: Preference for candidates who are currently located in Las Vegas or willing to relocate demonstrating a commitment to joining the Skillz team in their Las Vegas office

Total Starting Compensation including Base Bonus: $170000

Location: Onsite in Las Vegas NV

Travel Requirement: Less than 10%
