TheOpportunity - Alberta based position

TheJunior/ Intermediate Instrumentation Technologistwill provide instrumentation leadership withinour interdisciplinary and innovativeproject Technologist will be a critical part ofour successensuring that technical excellence cost schedule and contractual requirements are Instrumentation Technologistwill report to the Instrumentation Leadandbe supported bySeniorInstrumentationTechnologist.

KeyResponsibilities

As a key contributor to theKleinfelder teamyour responsibilities will include

  • Collaboratingcloselywith team members to develop innovativetechnicalapproaches and solutionsfor single- andmulti-disciplineprojects.
  • Assistingwithinstrumentationengineeringand designdevelopmentover the entire project lifecyclethrough calculations sketches drawings and specifications.
  • Preparing and revising documentation throughall projectphases andmodifyingtechnical drawings and work plans according to engineeringprinciplesandprocedures.
  • Performinginstrumentationsizingcalculationsincludingcontrol valve sizingorifice plate sizingwake frequency calculationsusingstandard techniques and specialized software.
  • Developing project deliverablesincluding instrumentation datasheets schematics wiring diagrams standard details junction box layouts billsofmaterials instrument layout control panel layoutscontrol narratives shut down keys and design details.
  • Performing detailed reviews of codes standards and specificationsto ensure designs meet allprojectrequirements.
  • Conduct field reviews to develop project scope meet with project stakeholders andverifyfield conditions.
  • Providing construction support for projects includingRFI and shop drawing reviewandfield inspections.
  • Assisting projectmanagers and senior engineersin developing and managing project scope budget and schedule.
  • Assisting client account managers project managers and senior engineerswith business development duties as required.
  • Following developing technologies in instrumentation and control.
  • Completion of other relevant duties as required.

Competencies& Skills

  • Working knowledge of SmartPlant Instrumentation (INtools) datasheet revisions and wiring module
  • Understanding ofinstrumentation engineering concepts construction methods and approaches.
  • Strong communicationteamworkand collaboration skills.
  • Responsive and client service oriented.
  • Proactiveself-starterwith an eagerness to learn.
  • Excellentattention to detailorganizationand time management skills.
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills strong analytical abilities and a continuous improvement in mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suiteand PDF editingprograms(Bluebeam Adobe)used to create reports and documents.
  • Knowledge of CAD design software tools such as AutoCAD Navisworks MicroStation and Revit would be an asset.

Experience& AcademicRequirements

  • Instrumentation Engineering Technologist or equivalent.
  • 0 to 6 years of Instrumentation Engineering experience in oil and gas EPCM or related industry.
  • Registration with ASET in the province of Alberta is an asset.

  • Location: Edmonton AB or Calgary AB
  • Job Type: Full-time Permanent or Temporary/Flexible
  • Please note that this position may be anywhere from temp/flex to full-time regular roles.
  • Job is performed in anoffice environmentworking with computers and documents for extended periods. Occasionaltravel may be required including field workwithexposure to hazardssuch asconstruction weather and industrial operations
